4-H Summer Camps

Every summer, several 4-H camps are conducted across the state to allow 4-Hers the opportunity to receive in depth training in specific areas as well as to be come more self-sufficient and grow as an individual person.  2009 Summer Camp Brochure (357KB pdf)

Jefferson County Summer Camp

A one week camp for 4-H members in grades 3 - 8 (at time of camp) to participate in swimming, canoeing, fishing, recreation and a variety of other outdoor activities. Youth stay in cabins at beautiful 4-H Camp Cherry Lake  (Letter, camp application. requirements/fees, manditory meeting for campers and parents) (134KB pdf). 4-H members of high school age may participate as teen counselors. (Camp packet(401 pdf), Participation form(302KB pdf) and Lunch form (32 pdf)) (print all three to have a complete packet) To receive a complete Camp packet from our office come by and fill out the camp application and pay your deposit. We must have the camp application and deposit to be placed on the list for camp.

Jefferson County Day Camps

Day Camps are just that the youth come and spend the day or part of the day doing 4-H activities for a week or four days. 

  • Jubilee Outdoor and Recreation 4-H Day Camp

At Jubilee Camp the youth travel to Jubilee Plantation (owned by the Lawton Chiles Fundation) on Micccosukee Road and participate in outdoor activities. Youth learn about conservation, forestry,  and wildlife, as well as archery, shot guns, air rifles and air pistols.  Jubilee Camp is a multi-county camp with Leon and Jefferson Counties participating together with 30 youth from each county.

  • 5 - 7 Year Old Day Camp

The 5 - 7 Year Old Day Camp is for 5, 6, and 7 year old youth.  This camp is from 8:00  a.m. - 12:00 noon and Monday thru Thursday.  Camp activities are centered around each years theme.  Each year the youth go fishing, swimming and to a farm during the camp.  (2009 photos)

  • 8 - 9 Year Old Day Camp

8 - 9 Year Old Day Camp is for youth 8 and 9 years of age.  Camp runs Monday thru Thursday and is from 8:00 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday and ends at 12:00 noon on Thursday.  Camp activities are cenered around each years theme.  Each year the youth go fishing, swimming and to a farm. Florida 4-H Horsemanship Camp

A one week intensive schooling in all forms of horse riding, horse care and safety. Each participant brings their own horse and experiences a fantastic education in either English or Western horsemanship. Youth must be able to saddle and care for their own horse without any help to be able to attend this camp.

Florida 4-H Horticulture Camp

This one week camp is devoted to learning about the horticultural industry of Florida. The area of instruction rotates between citrus, ornamental horticulture and vegetables. Each topic is covered in depth every three years. This camp is held at 4-H Camp Cloverleaf. It is open to 4-Hers 13 and older.

Florida 4-H Camp Counselor Training Camp

A one week camp designed to teach teens how to be a camp counselor for summer 4-H camps. This is a leadership development camp where teens learn how to be group leaders and teachers. Teens will also spend a day at Camp Cherry Lake to be trained with camp staff during the week. You must be a high school student to attend.

4-H Summer Enrichment Program (FAMU Camp)

The 4-H Summer Enrichment Program has its primary purpose to introduce and engage senior 4-H club members (9-11 graders) in a week long enrichment program in the agricultural sciences. Participants are selected based on their academics and leadership and citizenship involvement in their county 4-H program. (More information & Forms)
