Florida is offering mediation to people or organizations that have received an adverse decision from a Unites States Department of Agriculture agency in relation to a disaster or loan-related program. This process is handled by the Florida Agriculture Mediation Service
The Tree Assistance Program (TAP) will assist some producers for losses from 2004 hurricanes. Specific language in the program refers to pecan losses. Lost yield may be dealt with later in a disaster program. Clean-up, down tree replacement, and other expenses may qualify for federal cost assistance. Contact Mark Demott for more information.
